2020 Chevy Blazer Trims and Packages
Great things come back better than ever! The Chevy Blazer was removed from production in 2005, but since then has made a triumphant return to Chevy’s legendary lineup. Since its reintroduction in 2019, the Blazer has solidified its place in history as a sporty mid size SUV. This two row SUV has the style, performance capabilities and technology features to suit your needs. There are many options when it comes to choosing the right Blazer model for you. With four trim levels with many different features to choose from, it can be difficult to choose a model that fits your needs while staying within your budget. Below we will compare all five trim levels and their options to help you decide which Blazer is best for you!
Let’s first look at the features every Blazer comes standard with, by starting at the base level trim package. The 2020 Blazer base model is the L, equipping your Blazer with many higher-than-standard features. The Blazer comes standard with a 2.5 liter 4 cylinder engine, which gives you 193 horsepower and 188 pounds of torque, comparable to other mid size 5 seat SUVs. Your Blazer sits on 18 inch bright silver aluminum wheels. Seven total airbags come standard in all Blazer models, including dual front-impact, seat-mounted driver and passenger side impact, and knee airbags. Even this base level Blazer features dynamic exterior styling, including chrome accents on the grille and exhaust, and a spoiler to round out the sporty look. Inside you’ll find up to 64.2 cubic feet of cargo space. Technology features include an 8 inch touchscreen infotainment center, home to your phone’s apps through Android Auto or Apple Car Play. Although the L trim is considered the base level, it is far from basic.
Your next trim level is the LT, which comes standard with everything the L trim does, plus some added performance and convenience features. There are 3 package levels to the LT – the LT, 2LT, and 3LT. Each comes with customizable options to continue to personalize your Blazer to fit your needs. Your engine can be upgraded all the way to the 3LT’s 308 horsepower, 3.6 liter, V6 engine for additional power and performance. Your windows come at a deeper tint, adding to the sleek, overall look of your Blazer. Safety features include lane change alert, side blind spot alert, and rear cross traffic alert to prevent a collision in reverse. Technology gets an upgrade in all LT models, with SiriusXM capabilities accessed through the touchscreen infotainment center. For the cold mornings, remote start and heated driver and front passenger seats will get your interior nice and toasty, plus your auto dimming side view mirrors are heated and will stay clear no matter the weather. Your 2020 LT Blazer also has a programmable power operated liftgate, which allows you to program a desired liftgate open level if you frequent a place with low overhead clearance, like an at home garage or parking garage.
The third trim level is the RS. The RS is all about power and presence. It comes standard with a 3.6 liter V6 engine, and comes with most features on the 3LT model. Also available on the RS model is an advanced twin clutch all wheel drive system. This technology allows your Blazer to independently control the torque level on the rear wheels during turns or other appropriate times. Another new and convenient technology available is the hands-free tailgate. If you’ve ever struggled to free up a hand to get your tailgate open, this will change your life! With your keyfob on you, you’ll see the Chevy emblem appear on the ground below your rear bumper when you are within six feet of your vehicle. To activate your tailgate opening, simply use your foot to swipe over the Chevy emblem, and you don;t have to fumble with your groceries or other items. This is an added convenience feature you’ll never want to live without. As the driver, you’ll love the heated steering wheel, 8 inch color driver information center located behind your steering wheel, and navigation system built right into the infotainment center. Additionally, the RS sits on 20 inch wheels, 2 inches larger than the standard wheels on all earlier models. Also notable with these wheels is the Dark Android machine-faced aluminum rims, which means your rims are dark and industrial looking. Also contributing to the overall darker more defined look is the special grille that comes on all RS models. The grille is distinctively mesh black, with a black Chevy bowtie emblem, leaving no room for guessing on the make of this car. Exterior colors like “Red Hot”, “Silver Ice Metallic” and sleek black make the Blazer one of the most eye catching cars out there. Chevy describes the RS as a “true showstopper”, and we can’t help but agree.
The last trim option is the Blazer Premier. Much like the name suggests, the Premier delivers in all categories. This Blazer comes with most of the features on the RS, plus some added improvements to the infotainment system, interior comfort, and exterior appearance. Like the RS, the Premier sits on 20 inch aluminum wheels, but on this trim the rims are Medium machine-faced, meaning they’re not quite as dark as those on the RS, but still just as eye catching. The front grille is signature to the Premier with metallic and chrome accents. Your roof rails are metallic, and compatible with a variety of different roof rack accessories. Inside the cabin, you’ll find leather seats, all heated except for the middle rear seat. Both front seats also have a cooling and ventilating function for those super hot days. Your sound system in the Premier model gets an upgrade to 8 Bose speakers throughout the vehicle.
As you can see, the 2020 Chevy Blazer has a lot to offer you when it comes to style, performance and capability. Each trim level comes with a variety of features and components that allow you to pick and choose depending on what is right for you. If you have any questions about the 2020 Blazer please reach out.
