Most people are thrilled with what the base model has to offer, but for those who want a little more or need something different, the Chevy Equinox offers several trim levels and packages to ensure you get the combination you want.
Take a closer look at the trim levels and packages offered for the 2020 Chevy Equinox:
The base model 2020 Chevy Equinox is the L, and it comes with a 1.5-liter Inline4 engine that puts out 170 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque. The base model is front-wheel drive and comes with a six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. You’ll enjoy spirited performance and will love driving in the Equinox every day.
Some of the exterior features on the base model include 17-inch silver aluminum wheels and heated sideview mirrors. You also get automatic high-beam assistance so that you get the visibility you need in any situation. ABS and driveline traction control give you a better handle on the road.
The interior is decked out in premium cloth upholstery, and you get comfort and convenience features like two, first-row LCD monitors, remote keyless entry, a rearview camera, and a six-speaker audio system with Bluetooth streaming and OnStar services.
The base model Chevy Equinox comes with plenty to love, and you’ll be able to enjoy it all at a great price.
The LS is the trim level above the base model, and it offers exactly the same features as the base model. What makes it special is that if offers several optional features.
With the LS, you can get a collapsible cargo area organize, embroidered front-row headrests, power lumbar control for the driver’s seat, or a rear-seat entertainment system with a DVD player. You can also upgrade the exterior with 19-inch aluminum wheels or a black grille with a black surround.
Optional safety features on the LS trim include rear cross traffic alert, rear parking assist, lane change alert with side blind zone alert, and an HD rear vision camera.
You get more luxury features on the LT trim as you are moving toward the highest offering on the 2020 Chevy Equinox. The penultimate trim level comes with a 4.2-inch multi-color driver information screen that makes it easier to quickly glimpse the information you need. It also has an eight-way power driver’s seat with lumbar support and a deep-tinted rear window, giving you comfort and privacy. There’s also a larger, 8-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system, as well as rear seat release levers.
On the exterior, the LT comes with high-intensity discharge headlamps. All of the safety features that were optional on the LS trim level are also option on the LT trim.
You get the first engine upgrade on the LT trim. This model comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that puts out 252 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The transmission is also upgraded to a nine-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is still standard.
The Premier is the highest trim level on the 2020 Chevy Equinox, and it comes with all the features on the previous trim levels plus some upgrades.
Exterior upgrades on the Premier trim level include 18-inch bright machined aluminum wheels with Sparkle Silver pockets, chrome roof-mounted side rails, fog lamps, LED headlamps and tail lamps, and a hands-free lift gate.
Some of the interior upgrades include dual-zone automatic climate control, front heated seats, leather seat trim, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and ambient interior lighting. The entertainment system gets an upgrade with the Infotainment 3 Plus system and wireless charging.
The safety features that were optional on the lower trim levels are standard on the Premier trim, including rear cross traffic alert, lane change alert with side blind zone alert, and rear parking assist.
Five optional packages are available for the 2020 Chevy Equinox, allowing you to get additional features without necessarily upgrading the trim level. The Chrome Package, Cargo Package, and Blackout Package are only available on the LS and LT trim levels. The Chrome Package includes a chrome grille with chrome surround, black bowtie emblems on the front and back, chrome mirror caps, and a bright rear bumper protector. The Cargo Package includes a retractable cargo share and a vertical cargo net. The Blackout Package includes a black grille with black surround, black bowtie emblems, and black mirror caps.
You can get the Interior Enhancement Package on the LS and LT trim levels also, and it is the only package you can get on the Premier trim. This package includes premium carpeted floor mats and embroidered front row headrests.
The last package, the Confidence and Convenience Package, is only available on the LT trim. It includes rear parking assist, rear cross traffic alert, remote start, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Two editions are also available for the 2020 Equinox. The Midnight Edition is available on the LT, and the Premier Redline Edition is available on the Premier trim. The Midnight Edition includes the Mosaic Black paint color, 19-inch gloss black aluminum wheels, a black grille and mesh with black surround, black perforated leather-appointed seating, and memory settings. The Premier Redline Edition includes black bowtie emblems, mosaic black mirror caps, black window surround, and 19-inch black wheels with red accents and black center caps.
