Performance and Engine Options
For the 2022 Chevy Equinox, you only have one engine option. This is a departure from the previous model year. This version of the Equinox offers you a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine on all models. This engine option gives you 170-horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. It is also paired with a standard front-wheel drive system, but there is an optional all-wheel-drive system. This engine is paired with a standard six-speed automatic transmission, and this vehicle can tow up to 3,500 pounds when it is properly equipped. In previous models, there was an optional 2.0-liter engine option, but for 2022, this is not available.

The new RS model offers you premium interior features like jet black cloth or leather seating, red interior stitching, black ice chrome accents, and a black headliner.
The Equinox is not a huge SUV, but it offers you some good cargo space and some great cargo solutions. Behind the rear seats, you get 29.9 cubic feet of storage space, but the second row of seating has folding 60/40 split bench seats to allow for more cargo capabilities. You can get a maximum cargo volume of 63.9 cubic feet with these seats folded down. There is also some hidden storage under the rear cargo floor.
