What’s New for 2025?
The 2025 Chevy Traverse, still in its current third-generation iteration, features updates that push the Traverse lineup further upmarket in the luxury stakes.
The trim lineup sees the discontinuation of the previous entry LS trim level, and 2025 marks the return of the luxurious High Country trim.
Bold Exterior
The 2025 Traverse wears its squared-off two-box exterior body design with its rugged look comfortably. The exterior design is inoffensive without any unnecessary embellishments, and the overall styling will please most potential shoppers.
Viewed front on, the large square grill complete with the Chevy-esque horizontal trim bar is very masculine. Flanking this large front grille are slim horizontal LED headlights with auto on/off function and standard IntelliBeam.
Some really interesting design features are the tapering rear window design that wraps around the rear quarter panel and the rear tail lights that resemble the letter ‘Y’ lying on its side.
Buyers, regardless of the trim level chosen, will be treated to an extensive lineup of exterior design features and equipment that includes:
- Solar-absorbing windows for the rear and side
- Deep-tinted glass
- Heated power-adjustable outside mirrors with integrated turn signal indicators
- Door handles in body-color
- Body-color bodyside moldings
- Bright upper door moldings
- Wheel moldings in black
- Mold-in-color black roof-mounted side rails
- AutoSense power liftgate

All 2025 Chevy Traverse trims are fitted with a Trailering Package that includes:
- Heavy-duty cooling system
- Hitch Guidance with Hitch View
- Factory-installed hitch with hitch cover
- 220-amp alternator
The Traverse offers a maximum 5,000 lbs towing capacity across all trim levels.
Depending on the chosen trim level, owners will get alloy wheels ranging from 18 inches to 22 inches fitted on their 2025 Chevy Traverse and an 18-inch steel spare wheel fitted with a compact spare tire to do duty in emergencies, plus a mechanical jack with tools is supplied.
Six exterior colors available on the trim lineup include:
- Iridescent Pearl Tricoat at an extra cost
- Mosaic Black Metallic
- Radiant Red Tintcoat at an extra cost
- Sterling Gray Metallic
- Lakeshore Blue Metallic
- Extra cost Harvest Bronze Metallic
Dimensions
The 2025 Chevy Traverse rides on a 121.0-inch wheelbase and measures 204.49 inches long. The Traverse is 79.57 inches wide without including the exterior mirrors and stands 69.7 inches tall.
The minimum ground clearance is 6.77 inches, which is some handy off-road clearance to prevent your Chevy’s underside from sustaining any damage from rocks and other nasty obstacles.
Powertrain and Performance
The full lineup of Traverse trims features the standard 328 horsepower @5,500 rpm, 2.5-liter turbo-boosted four-cylinder engine making 326 pound-feet of torque @3,500 rpm.
Technologies include Variable Valve Timing and Spark Ignition Direct Injection in the dual overhead camshaft design. The engine offers an automatic stop-start system and is coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Electronic Precision Shift with an electronic transmission range selector is standard.
The 2025 Traverse lineup is available with an FWD drivetrain or with an optional AWD drivetrain with a deactivation feature to allow the SUV to run in FWD.
Fuel Economy
The EPA estimates that the Traverse in FWD will offer 20 mpg city and 27 mpg highway fuel economy ratings, while AWD will drop these estimates slightly to 19 city and 24 mpg highway driving.
All trims are fitted with a fuel tank of 21.7 gallons capacity.

Classy Cabin
The classy interior of the 2025 focuses on space and versatility, with generous comfort and convenience items across all trim levels.
All trim levels will accommodate seven passengers with the standard second-row captain’s chairs, while the LT trim is orderable with a second-row bench seat that increases seating capacity to eight passengers.
The airy cabin features an 11-inch diagonal Driver Information Center that allows drivers to personalize vehicle features, including warning messages and vehicle information, and the huge 17.7-inch diagonal infotainment display is standard.
Front bucket seats, a tri-zone automatic climate control system, plus several large storage bins, including one on the center console ahead of the two large cup holders, are found across all trims.
As mentioned, the generous list of standard comfort and convenience features means that even the longest journeys will not be overly arduous.
