The LS is the base trim level for the 2018 Chevrolet Trax. This vehicle starts out at a price around $21,000. There are several key features that come standard in the LS trim, so let’s take a closer look at those. The LS gives you Chevrolet MyLink with a 7-inch Color Touchscreen standard. You also get a Rear Vision Camera standard. Other standard features include a 1.4L ECOTEC turbocharged engine, 6-speed automatic transmission and a StabiliTrak electronic stability control system. Also included is the OnStar Basic plan for five years as well as OnStar with 4G LTE.
The LS may not seem to offer many features other than the standard features, but when you take a closer look, you realize Chevy gives you a lot of standard features. That makes the LS a good entry level option for you if you are looking for a lower price point.
The LT is your mid-level trim. This offers you features beyond just the standard, but it isn’t as costly as the highest level trim option. The starting price for the 2018 Chevrolet Trax LT will be around $22,900.
The upgrades from the LS trim include premium cloth upholstery, cruise control, satellite radio and remote start. Then, you start getting into your options for added packages for the LT. There are three package options for this vehicle. You can get the LT Convenience package, the Driver Confidence package or the Sun and Sound package.
The LT Convenience package that gives you a power-adjustable driver’s seat and leatherette upholstery. This package only costs you $450 to add to the LT. The next package option is the Driver Confidence package, which costs $495. When you add the Driver Confidence package, you get rear parking sensors, rear cross traffic alert and blind spot monitoring. Your final package option for the LT is the Sun and Sound package. This package will give you a sunroof and a Bose audio system, and it will cost you $1,400 to add to your Trax LT.
The LT does a good job of adding some good features for your safety, comfort and convenience. You also have a few package options that can give you even more upgrades for an affordable price. For example, the Driver Confidence package adds safety technology for a low price. This is a great trim option for good value.
Your final trim option for the Trax is the Premier. The Premier is your high-end trim option. The 2018 Trax Premier will cost you around $27,300. However, the price reflects all the features you will receive. The Premier gives you all the features of the lower trims plus some great additional features.
When you purchase the Trax Premier you will get the Driver Confidence package in addition to all of the features of the lower trim levels. You will also get leatherette upholstery, heated front seats and a Bose audio system. You can also opt for the Driver Confidence II package which only costs you $295 and gives you Forward Collision Alert and Lane Departure Warning.
The Trax Premier offers you the most features standard, and also offers added safety features in the Driver Confidence II package. You get the most luxury of all the options with heated front seats, leatherette upholstery and a Bose audio system.
Which is Right for You?
The 2018 Chevy Trax is a great option for you in the small SUV category. If you are looking for a city-smart ride that gives you added cargo space and some cool features, look no further! The Trax gives you three trim options which we discussed above. Your choice of trim depends on the kind of features you are looking for.
The base level trim will help you save some money if you are looking for a vehicle that is more affordable. It doesn’t include much beyond the standard features, but there are a decent amount of features standard including OnStar and Chevrolet MyLink. The LT is a step up with some added features and optional packages that can really make a difference. This makes it a great option at just a couple thousand dollars more than the LS. The Premier is your top-level option with luxury features like heated seats and leatherette seating. However, the Premier does cost the most because you are getting the most features.
