Corvette Z06 or Camaro ZL1: Which is Right for You?
The Corvette and the Camaro have always gone head to head. They are both flashy sports cars that are fun to drive and are fast enough to tear up the road. And they’re affordable compared to some of the other luxury performance vehicles on the market.
The trouble may be trying to decide between the two. We’ve put together a comparison of some of the key features of the two to help you decide:
Exterior and Interior Differences
Both the Corvette and the Camaro have always had a streamlined, aerodynamic design that makes them look just as fast as they are. The new models are the same, though the Camaro has a beefier body that makes it look as strong as it is fast. It has a thicker front end, with a deep grille and a snug-nosed fascia. The Corvette has a steep incline at the hood, ending in a thin grille that is flanked by bulging headlights that look like eyes.
Inside, you’ll notice stark differences between the Camaro and the Corvette, as well. The Corvette Z06 has only two seats, and it has luxury details, like leather seating and a premium sound system. The Camaro ZL1 has four seats, but the rear two are small even for kids. Interior details are not as sharp as those in the Corvette, but the interior is beautiful, as well. You’ll have a gorgeous ride no matter which model you choose.
Most people are interested in the Corvette Z06 or the Camaro ZL1 because they want a car that drives fast and gives them a thrill. Neither of these sports cars disappoints. The 2018 Camaro ZL1 comes standard with a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine that puts out 275 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. A few engine options are available, topping out at a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that puts out 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque.
The 2018 Corvette Z06 comes standard with a 6.2-liter V8 that puts out 460 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. You can upgrade to a high-performance variant of the same engine that puts out 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque.
The new Corvette Z06 starts at $80,900, while the new Camaro ZL1 starts at the relative bargain price of $62,000. These are luxury sports cars that offer high-end performance, and they are worth every penny. But if price is an issue, you’ll get great performance and style from the Camaro for a lot less money.
