Equinox vs. Blazer vs. Traverse: Chevy SUV Size Comparison
When it comes to SUVs, Chevy is a leader in the field. It creates some stylish SUVs that provide powerful performance while also offering a comfortable ride. A lot of people consider an SUV when they have a large family or want to transport several passengers. So they look at passenger and cargo space to make sure they’ll have enough of both. Other buyers look at the overall size of the SUV to consider how easy it will be to maneuver on the road or in tight spots, as well as to predict fuel efficiency.
With that in mind, we put together some sizing information about three of Chevy’s most popular SUVs: The Equinox, Blazer, and Traverse. Here’s how they compare:
The Equinox is a stylish, yet substantial SUV. It comes in at 183.1 inches long and 72.6 inches wide. It is 65.5 inches high.
Inside, you’ll find plenty of space to stretch your legs and to store cargo. When all the seats are in place, the Equinox has a cargo capacity of 29.9 cubic feet. The cargo space maxes out at 63.5 cubic feet.
Passengers have plenty of room to ride comfortably. Front leg room is 40.9 inches, and head room is 40 inches even. In the back, passengers have 38.5 inches of head room and 39.7 inches of leg room, giving them almost the same amount of space. No one should be fighting about who has to ride in the back with the Equinox!
The Blazer is Chevy’s exciting and sporty-looking SUV offering. It’s bigger than the Equinox, but you wouldn’t know it right away just looking at it. The Blazer is 191.4 inches long and 76.7 inches wide, making it both longer and wider than the Equinox. It’s 67 inches high, making it slightly taller, as well.
Inside, there’s also more space. It can carry up to 30.5 cubic feet of cargo when the seats are in place, or up to 64.2 cubic feet of cargo when they aren’t.
Passengers also have plenty of space. Front leg room is 41 inches, and head room is 39.8 inches. In the back, passengers have 39.6 inches of leg room and 38.6 inches of head room.
The Traverse is the largest of the three offerings from Chevy. It is 204.3 inches long and 78.6 inches wide. Though it is about the same height as the other two, coming in at 70.7 inches tall.
Cargo capacity maxes out at a whopping 98.2 cubic feet of space in the Traverse, and it’s 23 cubic feet when the seats are in place.
