What’s New on the 2023 Silverado 1500?

With the 2023 model, the Chevy Silverado is entering the fourth year of its fourth generation. The popular pickup has established its legacy, and it has a long future ahead of it. With this new model year, it introduces a few changes, but not much is needed to improve this already exceptional truck. Here’s a closer look at the changes buyers can expect with the 2023 Silverado 1500:

New Exterior Options

The 2023 Silverado 1500 will get some exciting new exterior color options. The colors Silver Ice Metallic and Cherry Red Tintcoat will be removed as options, and Sterling Grey Metallic, Heavy Bronze Metallic, and Radiant Red Tintcoat will be introduced.

In addition to these attractive new exterior colors, an optional protective film will also be offered on the exterior of the 2023 Silverado 1500. You’ll have the option to build your truck in a color that you love and to protect it for a long-lasting style.

Turbo Diesel Duramax Engine

Four engine options will be offered on the 2023 Silverado 1500, including the new turbo diesel Duramax engine. This new engine is a 3.0-liter, six-cylinder, and it puts out 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

The other three engine options include:

• A 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that puts out 310 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque
• A 5.3-liter V8 that puts out 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque
• A 6.2-liter V8 that puts out 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque

All engine options are paired with the 10-speed automatic transmission, except the smallest option, which comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Other Features

Besides these new introductions for the 2023 model, the Silverado 1500 has plenty of other great features that will make new drivers devoted fans. Some features, depending on the trim level, include keyless entry, a large digital gauge cluster, touchscreen infotainment display, carbon fiber-reinforced cargo bed, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, and lane keep assistance.

There are nine trim levels for the new Silverado 1500, giving you plenty of options to configure the truck your way, including options for cab size, rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, and more. You can also choose configurations that are better suited for off-roading or for hauling, giving you better towing capacity, enhanced suspension, and more.
