2021 Chevy Silverado 2500HD: First Look
The 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500HD won’t be on dealership lots for another couple of months, but we are starting to get details about this exciting new version of the popular heavy-duty pickup truck. More details will be forthcoming as we get closer to the release date, but what we know already is that there will be some great design changes for the Silverado 2500HD, some technology updates to enhance comfort and convenience, and a sleek-looking special edition.
Here’s what we know so far:
Exterior Styling
Chevrolet will be introducing some bold styling updates for the 2021 Silverado 2500HD. You can expect to see a more imposing and impressive façade on the Silverado – suitable for a heavy-duty pickup. The form better matches the function.
On the new Silverado, you can expect to see a taller front end with more detailing across the grille, more angular lines, and more detailing throughout the body. All of the changes work to bring the Silverado into greater focus and to create a bigger visual impact.
Technological Upgrades
The Silverado has always offered superior performance and strength. But, like many heavy-duty trucks, it has not always been heavy on convenience features. Chevrolet is working to change that with the new Silverado 2500HD.
Among the many technological upgrades that are expected for the new Silverado, Chevy will be introducing an enhanced trailering camera system and new software for the system. The new camera system will provide 15 unique views around the truck, including all the way down the side, inside the bed, behind the bed and trailer, around the hitch, and even a top-down view. The enhanced camera system will make it easier to maneuver in the large truck, and it will reduce safety risks, even when trailering.
Special Edition
Chevrolet is teaming up with clothing company Carhartt to create a special edition Silverado 2500HD. The new truck is designed to appeal to those “who work hard on the jobsite, but also live a rugged lifestyle,” according to Chevrolet.
The special edition is designed around the LTZ crew cab and comes with the Z71 Off-Road package, which includes things like hill descent control, skid plates, all-terrain tires, twin-tube Rancho shocks, and a rollup tonneau cover. As with any special edition, there are several branded interior and exterior details. Some unique style features will include an exterior gold pinstripe and leather-appointed seats with top-stitching.
