2021 Silverado Blackout Edition

The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado has some exciting new options that will give drivers the chance to enhance the performance, upgrade some features, or add some stylish twists to the beloved truck. One of the latest options to be made available is the “Blackout Package,” which is an exterior appearance package that gives the truck a sleek and sophisticated all-black silhouette.

What’s Included in the Package

The Blackout Package is an appearance package, so it primarily concerns cosmetic changes. The package includes:

• Black exterior paint
• Black Chevy bow tie
• Black Silverado nameplates
• Black RST/6.2 L/Duramax badges
• Black tailgate lettering for the Chevrolet nameplate
• 20-inch five-split spoke high gloss black wheels with black caps and a black bow tie with silver outline (available on Custom trim only)
• 20-inch painted aluminum wheels (available on RST trim only)

The Blackout Package offers most of what is offered in the Dark Essentials Package, which includes the black Chevy bowties, black Silverado nameplates, black tailgate lettering, and black badges on the truck. But the Blackout Package offers the 20-inch wheel options.

Both packages come with either a 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8 engine or a 3.0-liter Duramax I-6 turbodiesel engine.

Availability

The 2021 Silverado Blackout Edition is available as a limited production option or as a dealer-installed accessories package. You will likely have to special order the edition.

The Blackout Package is only available on the Custom and RST trim levels. You cannot get the Blackout Package in conjunction with the Rally Edition on the Custom or RST trim levels, and you cannot get it with the Redline Edition on the RST trim level. The reason is that some of the options overlap with the options offered on those other packages.

Not the Midnight Edition

The Blackout Package is not to be confused with the 2021 Silverado Midnight Edition. While the Midnight Edition looks very similar in terms of the all-black silhouette, it offers different features, and it is only available on the LT Trail Boss and Custom Trail Boss models.

The Silverado Midnight Edition comes with 18-inch high-gloss black-painted aluminum wheels (in contrast to the 20-inch wheels on the Blackout Package), and it adds things like a two-inch factory suspension lift and silver-hammer interior trim accents.
